ANA Hotel Kyoto

Location. The ANA Hotel Kyoto is located two kilometers (1.2 miles) from downtown Kyoto, opposite Nijo-jo Castle which was built as the Kyoto residence of the Tokugawa Shoguns in 1626.

Hotel Features. The ANA Hotel Kyoto offers business services (facsimile transmission and photocopying). On site are five restaurants serving international fare including French, Chinese and Japanese cuisine. The Castle Gate bar is located on the first floor and serves a wide range of beverages. Parking is available (surcharge applies) and a complimentary shuttle service operates between the hotel, downtown and the JR Kyoto train station.

Guestrooms. Guestrooms feature in-room safes, work desks and lamps, cable televisions, coffee/tea makers, mini refrigerators and ensuite bathrooms with shower/tub combinations and hair dryers. Non-smoking guestrooms are available.

Expert Tip. The narrow shopping street of Nishiki Market is well worth a visit. Known as Kyoto's Kitchen, the lane is lined by more than 100 shops selling both fresh and processed foods including many Kyoto specialties such as sweets, sushi and pickles. The market dates back several centuries and many stores have been run by the same family for generations. Most stores open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and close one day of the week (usually Wednesdays or Sundays).
